{"id":2703,"date":"2011-01-18T03:22:04","date_gmt":"2011-01-18T03:22:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sandbox.revolvedmedia.com\/amberspa.ca\/preparing-and-spraying-client-at-appointment-time\/"},"modified":"2011-01-18T03:22:04","modified_gmt":"2011-01-18T03:22:04","slug":"preparing-and-spraying-client-at-appointment-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sandbox.revolvedmedia.com\/suncocktail.com\/preparing-and-spraying-client-at-appointment-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Preparing and Spraying Client at Appointment Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ALWAYS<\/strong> ensure that the general area is clean and that your next client has a clean towel on the floor before they arrive for their appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Let client undress alone in the tanning room, calling out to you when they are ready; or you can gently knock on the door after a few minutes.\u00a0 You can provide a spa robe for your client to wear after they disrobe before their spray tan session.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>PREPARING<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Prior to spraying your client, reconfirm that their body is free of any moisturizers, oils, deodorant, and make-up.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your client has removed all their jewelry and that their hair is up in a cap.\u00a0 Ensure cap is pulled up into client\u2019s hairline and keep ears and back of neck uncovered.<\/li>\n<li>If client has not exfoliated and\/or has moisturizer, oil, deodorant or make-up on, you can have client use an exfoliating <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sluff Wipe <\/span>or client can be sprayed with an exfoliating <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pre-Tan Prep Spray.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s nice to offer client a disposable panty and\/or bra.\u00a0 Be mindful of what client will be wearing post-tan, especially if they will be wearing a bathing suit or a strapless dress.\u00a0 You\u2019ll want to make sure client will not have unwanted tan lines.<\/li>\n<li>Provide client a cotton swab to put a tiny bit of lip balm or Vaseline on their lips.\u00a0 You can provide nose plugs to your client or use a cotton swab very lightly dipped in Vaseline or a barrier cream, for client to carefully turn inside of their nostrils.\u00a0 The nostrils should not be clogged.\u00a0 Ensure product is not outside lip or nostril area as it can create a barrier when spray tanning.<\/li>\n<li>Have client stand on a white hand towel or sticky feet to ensure tanning solution doesn\u2019t adhere to the bottom of their feet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>SPRAYING<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Before spraying client\u2019s face, hold the spray gun up to the client\u2019s face and tell them to close their eyes so they can feel the air pressure.\u00a0 Explain to your client that it\u2019s important for them to keep their eyes closed, relax their face, and hold their breath while spraying their face.<\/li>\n<li>After spraying hands and feet, pat with a soft cloth or disposable towel and wipe fingernails and toenails with a baby wipe or disposable towel.\u00a0 Another option would be to use the barrier cream on fingernails and toenails before they\u2019re sprayed.\u00a0 The barrier cream could be used on any dry areas.<\/li>\n<li>Give your clients your full attention and do not rush the spray tan \u2013 check to make sure client has a flawless application.<\/li>\n<li>Educate client about post-tan maintenance and recommend our retail product range.\u00a0 The best time to discuss the after-care products, is while they\u2019re in spray tan room.<\/li>\n<li>Do not rush client.\u00a0 Allow them to dress when they feel dry.<\/li>\n<li>Tell your client to call you if they have any questions or concerns after their spray tan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although the likelihood of an allergic reaction is very small, a patch test is recommended for clients who have a known sensitivity to sunless products or the ingredients in them, including fragrances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALWAYS ensure that the general area is clean and that your next client has a clean towel on the floor before they arrive for their appointment.
